A Little Gardening on this beautiful day

That is, of course, before the storm that's supposed to dump MORE snow tomorrow rolls in... *eye roll*

Today I went out in shorts and a tank and ripped out all of my old plants from last summer's garden. This was pretty much my first step in preparing my garden for a new "crop" of goodness this spring/summer. I pulled out the old zucchini and squash plants, all the tomato plants, my jalapeno, gypsy and bell pepper plants, and the marigolds that were scattered throughout the garden. I also pulled up the old potatoes and green onion plants that never really took last year, mainly so I can make plenty of space for my new and improved garden this year.

In other news, I think I may have been able to convince my husband to help me build a raised garden box on the other side of our (very large) backyard to give me even more planting space and options. I still have my fingers crossed that we can actually pull it off before it's too late to use this season, so we'll see what happens! Another hang up is that I'm currently 13.5 weeks pregnant, so that could also change the schedule of things.

Wishing you a beautiful day!
